Who Needs AARST Radon Testing?

AARST standards are used by several federal agencies, including the Department of Housing and Urban Development. AARST is the gold standard for deciding whether a building needs radon mitigation. Due to its widespread adoption, AARST-compliant radon testing is required for many different federal loans.

Standards

  • At least 10% of residential units on every floor above the 1st tested floor

  • Quality control measures to ensure accurate testing

    • Duplicates: Two devices will be placed in at least 10% of tested units/locations
